EDUCATIONAL
The educational sector is always under pressure to provide new classrooms or make improvements to existing buildings. These projects have short lead-in times, and tight design and construction programmes. The completion date must suit school term times.
Ellis Structures work with architects, service engineers and contractors within framework agreements to deliver new school buildings ready for the new term. The designs of any new extensions and refurbishments have to be developed within the constraints of school access.
Recent new developments have included steel frame structures and modular classroom superstructures (which are provided by others). Foundations have included both the traditional types of foundation (pads, strips and raft) and piling systems. External works have included the design of drainage, soakaways and MUGA pitch construction. Ellis Structures have also been involved with providing new temporary classrooms for schools.
